Application Settings

Logicly offers a few different settings that will alter the editing surface or the behavior of the simulation.

Editor Settings

The following settings affect the editing surface.

Change the appearance and behavior of the grid.

Grid Size changes the distance between grid lines on the editing surface. This value is measured in pixels. The default value is 15.
When Snap to Grid is enabled, and you drag a component with your mouse, the component's top-left corner will always be forced to the nearest horizontal and vertical grid lines. By default, this setting is disabled.
Toggle Show Grid to change whether the grid is displayed on the editing surface. By default, this setting is enabled.

Change the appearance and behavior of objects on the editing surface.

If you prefer, you may change the Symbol Style between the different standards for logic gate symbols. The ANSI/IEEE standard offers distinctive shapes, while the IEC standard uses rectangular shapes.
When Show Wire Colors is selected, every wire is drawn with the color associated with the signal passing through it. When this setting is disabled, all wires are always drawn white. Disabling wire colors can improve the rendering performance of complex circuits that propgate heavily. By default, this setting is enabled.
You may change the Signal Colors, if you desire. This setting affects components that display a signal and wires, if Show Wire Colors is selected. By default, High (true) is a shade of blue, Low (false) is white, High Impedance (hi-Z) is grey, and Error is red. In some cases, Low will be black, and this color variation cannot be changed. The following settings change the behavior or appearance of the simulation.

Limit Signal Propagation Time affects how often the simulation propagates signal changes. Longer values make it easier to visualize every change in the simulation, while unlimited propagation will update the simulation as fast as possible — potentially resulting in flickering and slowdowns. By default, this is Unlimited.
Pause Simulation on New/Open Document will affect how the simulation behaves when a new document is created or when a document is opened from the file system. If enabled, the simulation will start paused. If disabled, the simulation will be running. The state of the simulation in the previously opened document does not affect this behavior. By default, this setting is disabled.

Document defaults affect Document Settings for new documents only. They will not affect the currently opened document.

Default No Connection (Float) Signal affects how the signal of floating input pins (those that are unconnected) will be interpreted. The default value is High Impedance (Hi-Z), but it may be set to High (True), Low (False), or Error instead. For more information about these values, see Logic and Colors in Logicly.
Default Strict Mode determines whether the Hi-Z signal value is treated the same as the Error signal value in some situations. By default, this setting is enabled.
